DeGroote provided the opportunity to build my academic knowledge in addition to gaining real world exposure.
For me, DeGroote provided the opportunity to build my academic knowledge in addition to gaining real world exposure. Coming from an undergraduate degree in Economics with little work experience, I was eager to expand on my knowledge of business and apply it in practice through co-ops. My experiences with the recruitment team and current students, as well as seeing the resources available at DeGroote made it clear that it was the program for me.
Why an MBA?
Although I learned a lot through my undergraduate degree in Economics, I felt there was much more room to grow. An MBA offered the opportunity to build on various avenues of business that were not taught to me during my undergraduate degree, in addition to building soft skills that are essential for managerial positions I hoped to obtain in the future.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
The level of support given by the DeGroote network. Every upper year student and alumni has been extremely eager to help throughout my journey at DeGroote so far.

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
On the final week of first semester, my cohort organized a Secret Santa. Everyone brought snacks and gifts to the classroom during our break where we all hung out. It was an amazing moment stepping away from school with the classmates to just to connect with each other. People who were strangers months ago were now team members and friends.
