ABOUT THE PATHWAY

The W Booth School of Engineering Practice and Technology in the Faculty of Engineering and the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University have created a new opportunity for graduates of the Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programs in Automation Systems Engineering Technology, Automotive and Vehicle Engineering Technology, and Biotechnology.  

Starting in the Fall of 2025, BTech students who started the program in 2019 and later will be eligible to apply to DeGroote’s Accelerated MBA

This pathway is only applicable to the following streams within the McMaster BTech Program:   

BTech Students are also required to complete the following 2 courses before applying to the Accelerated MBA program with a minimum of B grade.  

  • COMMERCE 2AB3 – Managerial Accounting  
  • COMMERCE 2FB3 – Managerial Finance

I graduated from McMaster University’s Bachelor of Engineering Technology program in the last 10 years. Would I be eligible for the program?

Only McMaster University Bachelor of Technology (BTech) who started the program in 2019 and later, of the following streams are eligible to apply to the Accelerated MBA.

Regardless of stream, the following courses will need to be completed with a minimum grade of B.  

  • COMMERCE 2AB3 – Managerial Accounting
  • COMMERCE 2FB3 – Managerial Finance 

I want to pursue the program on a part-time basis. How are classes delivered and how long will it take? 

If you complete the Accelerated MBA program on a part-time basis it will take approximately two years. Classes are delivered in-person on our campus in Burlington, Ontario. Your course schedule for the week will ultimately depend on what classes you select.

Am I eligible for scholarships or bursaries?

If you are pursuing the Accelerated MBA full-time, you may be eligible for scholarships and bursaries in September. Requirements for scholarships and bursaries vary, so please read the application instructions carefully prior to applying. We also consider full-time Accelerated MBA applicants for entrance scholarships and admission awards at the time of application. Learn more about graduate scholarships.

Scholarships are not available to students who pursue the Accelerated MBA program on a part-time basis.

Are you able to waive the GMAT requirement?

The GMAT is currently not required for admission to the Accelerated MBA program, provided you have a competitive GPA. You can view our GPA requirements here.

If you have not met these GPA requirements, you may want to consider taking the GMAT examination to enhance your profile during the admissions process.
