I wasn’t expecting such a warm welcome from the DeGroote community. The academic and other support teams were present throughout the remote to in-person journey and helped transition smoothly. Additionally, I was surprised with all the scholarships that DeGroote offers international students.
Why DeGroote?
The diverse set of courses that DeGroote offers and the esteemed faculty at DSB were the main reason why I chose to do my MBA from McMaster University. The institution believes in having a diverse community & I wanted to be a part of an institution where I would feel at home & not as an outsider.
Why an MBA?
I wish to explore different domains before choosing ‘the path’ for myself. I come from a Commerce background & have rich experience as an accountant & strategy consultant. However, I have limited exposure to the health & tech industry which are booming in Canada. I want to tap into several sectors & industries to see if anything else interests or challenges me.

What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
Be a Sponge! Come with an open mind. There are so many new arenas that you would be exposed to. Make sure you dive deep into what excites you and be assured that support will be provided to you at each lap!
What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
The Integrated Project! Solving a real time business problem of one of Canada’s biggest Real Estate Agencies was an experience and a half in itself. We got to have 1×1 communication with the management of the company, understand their core problem, conduct market analysis & come up with an implementation plan. Did I mention that we won the case competition?
Aside from being an MBA Student Ambassador, what other extra-curricular activities have you been involved with while at DeGroote?

- Finance Director at DISC (DeGroote Innovation Solutions Competition)
- Incoming mentor at PennyDrops x McMaster University
