Why DeGroote?

DeGroote is so much more than a campus. It is a community, a place where you come to feel encouraged and inspired. DeGroote has helped me to grow as a professional, compassionate leader, and confident businesswoman. Coming to do my MBA at DeGroote was the easiest, and best decision I ever made for myself. I am forever thankful to the DeGroote community for all they do for their students.

Why an MBA?

An MBA opens so many doors for jobs and industries that you may not even be aware of! That’s what makes it so exciting – I may work in an industry or a position that I did not know existed prior to my MBA, and that’s so exciting. The options are endless, and DeGroote exposes its students to these opportunities. I have big dreams and I know my MBA will help me get there.

What surprised you about DeGroote?

From my first day at DeGroote, I felt like I belonged. This wasn’t a familiar feeling, especially from my undergrad. To feel an immediate sense of belonging and peace among a community of complete strangers is an experience in itself, and I will never forget that feeling. Even as my first year comes to an end, I have never lost touch of that feeling, and that’s not something you will get everywhere.

What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?

Don’t let the fear of an outcome stop you from getting started! Say yes to all and any opportunities that come your way and do not shy away from a challenge.

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?

The highlight of my DeGroote experience so far has been competing in the charity case competition. To be able to advocate for community charities with my peers was truly an incredible experience. I remember after pitching our idea to our charity, I sat beside my group members and just smiled. At that moment, I was doing exactly what I wanted to do with my MBA – advocating for my community at any level that I could.
