Why DeGroote?
As an individual that has grown within the field of healthcare, finding an MBA program that empowered me within this sector was where I naturally gravitated towards. In additional, being a professional with 5 years of experience within a single field , I valued what the DeGroote’s Co-Op program had to offer in terms of giving me wider exposure to other jobs, confidence to change careers, and the opportunity to diversely bolstered my network.
Why an MBA?
Coming from the field of recruitment, I have come to see the value an MBA does within management level and professional level careers. An MBA education would help me with my aspirations of becoming a management consultant, to run a business of my own, and to most importantly become a leader of others. I believe that and an MBA was the most effective tool to help me achieve my objectives.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
I was surprised to see how diverse of a network and community DeGroote was. I assumed most individuals would be of similar backgrounds and stem from the healthcare industry. However, I have come to really appreciate the diversity of the alumni class, my current cohorts of multi-talented colleagues and the collection of extremely knowledgeable professors.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
Immerse yourself within the MBA experience – Embrace being uncomfortable!
What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
My highlight of the DeGroote Experience was the first case competition that I had participated in. It has lead to life long friends that I cherish , and have leaned on for support throughout this academic journey!
