To be able to be an effective and stellar leader of tomorrow, I want to supplement my corporate experience and sharpen my business acumen with an advanced business education. My experience in the supply chain industry may be rich already but I believe that I will be able to learn more and leverage from others’ work experiences as well. Our class is a melting pot of talents, cultures and skills, and it’s incredible how we all complement each others’ strengths.

Work Experience during the DeGroote MBA (Co-op or Summer Internship)

  • Retail Marketing Specialist – FedEx Express Canada
  • Communications Analyst – RBC Technology and Operations

Why DeGroote?

DeGroote’s sense of community – the support from fellow students, school staff (CPD) and alumni – is its most attractive asset in my view. Being a business student won’t be a walk in the park, but with the warmth and openness of the people on or off campus makes the whole journey bearable and even enjoyable.

What surprised you about DeGroote?

Before joining DeGroote, I’ve been aware of the extra-curricular activities that students have, but the number of clubs covering different areas of interest is actually amazing. Its slogan “Education with Purpose” has also been lived up by a lot of charitable activities DeGroote hosts which also surprised me. A business school that truly cares… that’s big!

What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?

Keep an organized calendar (and never forget to include fun stuff there once in a while).

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?

The highlight of my DeGroote journey so far is actually the mini gatherings in between and after classes. We all have heavy school workloads, but it’s the stories, experiences and tips we share with each other that I really like and still look forward to.
