Why DeGroote?
I wanted to make a career pivot and I chose DeGroote because the structure of the co-op program would allow me to gain valuable work experience in an industry I had previously never worked in.
Why an MBA?
As someone looking to make a career pivot I knew the MBA would expose me to valuable tools and experiences that would help me with my career transition. Additionally, an MBA degree allows you to stand out in a competitive job market.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
The DeGroote community! I’ve had the pleasure of working with a lot of different people in the program through assigned groups, case competitions and clubs and everyone has been amazing. Whenever I reach out to alumni for a coffee chat they’re always quick to respond and are willing to help in whatever way they can. This support and generosity has blown me away.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
You only get out what you put in, be willing to show up and work hard and it will be very rewarding.
What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
Making it to the finals of the DISC case competition in my first semester was amazing. During my undergrad degree I never participated in case competitions, so this was a great experience that pushed me outside of my comfort zone.
