Why DeGroote?

Coming from a science background, I was looking for a program that would teach me the fundamentals of business, both academically and through work experience. I was attracted to DeGroote’s co-op program because it allows students to pursue new challenges and learning opportunities that will enrich their skillsets within the workplace. The co-op program gives students the opportunity to transition into career paths that were otherwise outside of their comfort zone.

Why an MBA?

After completing my undergraduate degree in Life Sciences, I knew that I wanted to make a pivot in my academic path, but I wasn’t sure which direction was most suited for me. An MBA offered me the opportunity to explore all facets of business through both academic curriculum and co-op terms in order to find my best fit.

What surprised you about DeGroote?

What surprised me about DeGroote was the highly supportive environment created by students, professors, and alumni. It truly is a team-oriented environment where everyone is supportive of each other’s success stories.

What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?

Connect with other DeGroote students and alumni! This network of individuals is an invaluable resource to have for learning about roles that interest you, securing co-ops, and for exploring career paths.

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?

The highlight of my DeGroote experience so far has been the connections that I’ve made within the program!
