Why DeGroote?
I chose DeGroote to pursue an MBA because of my positive experience during my undergrad. The culture of the DeGroote community is what drew me back. Everyone is supportive and willing to help. I always feel welcomed and safe to express my ideas and opinions. The DeGroote community is very diverse and it is great to be able to learn and work with people from different backgrounds. I am proud to be a part of the DeGroote family!
Why an MBA?
I chose to pursue an MBA because I aspire to become a leader in my career. My goal is to further develop my leadership skills and increase my knowledge in strategic management. I want to enhance my strategic mindset and learn frameworks that I can use to tackle any business problem. In addition, I want to continue to challenge myself and explore any new opportunities.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
The amount of support I received during my MBA journey surprised me. The DeGroote Staff provided me with a lot of helpful advice and guidance towards the application process. This increased my confidence during this stressful period. When I started my MBA, I received a lot of support from the MBA Ambassadors, staff, professors, and colleagues. It definitely helped me during the transition phase from work back into the school environment.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
There are many opportunities so be ready to come in with an open mindset to try new things and challenge yourself!
What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
I really enjoy my classes at the MBA level. The level of participation, collaboration and meaningful discussions pushed me outside my comfort zone and enhanced my learning. I also met a lot of cool colleagues in the program!
