DeGroote is the only Business school that offers 3 co-op terms in an MBA; I knew the structure of the program aligned with my needs and would set me up for success. Additionally, my experience during the recruitment process confirmed I wanted to be a part of the community - every single person (student, professor, admissions officer) that I reached out to took time out of their schedules to chat with me. DeGroote is also heavily case-based, every concept learned is applied to a real-world situation for practical understanding. All this in one of Canada's top ranked B-Schools? I had to become a Marauder!

Why an MBA?
After completing my Bachelor’s (Honours) degree and working as a Business Analyst for just over three years, I realized that some gaps in my knowledge needed to be filled. An MBA is just what I need to help me develop the necessary skill sets to advance in my career and become a successful leader. Did I mention pursuing an MBA is a great way to meet amazing people and grow your network? The networking skills learned are essential for any career.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
The synergy! The willingness of people to extend a helping hand at all times. The collaborative nature of the community. If you need help with your academics or career, be rest assured that someone has your back. There are also quite a number of extra-curricular activities to participate in, giving multiple opportunities for students to build themselves.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
Ask Questions, PARTICIPATE in extra-curricular activities, Network, Manage your time, but most of all – savour the experience!
What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
I know there are many more coming up, but so far, winning the 2020 DeGroote Innovate Case Competition (DISC) alongside my amazing team members is one for the books. None of us had ever participated in a case competition and we were up against 10 teams representing B-Schools from all over Canada. “Euphoria” doesn’t begin to describe what I felt when our team name was mentioned as first place!
