Take ownership of your MBA. What you put in is what you get out, so give it 100%!
Why DeGroote?
DeGroote stood out to me with its emphasis on community and development beyond professional skills. Even as a prospective applicant, both staff and students went above and beyond to speak to me about the program, and the focus was always on my professional goals and how DeGroote could help me reach them. As an alumnus of the Bachelor’s program, I didn’t think I’d return for my MBA, but I can firmly say I have 0 regrets about still being a Marauder.
Why an MBA?
Primarily, the career trajectories I had in mind would’ve required an MBA eventually, but now that I’ve pivoted from my original plans, my MBA is now providing me with the ability to explore new fields and learn. These insights have allowed me to think critically about how I want my career to play out, and combined with my coursework, figure out what skills I need to back those plans up.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
Even though it wasn’t supposed to be, the community was and still is my biggest surprise! I’ve never seen a group of students band together and help one another this quickly or to this degree. My classmates have and continue to advocate for one another’s well-being, and seeing it in action is incredibly empowering to see.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
Without a doubt, the people I’ve met. It’s been great to connect and work closely with so many people with such diverse backgrounds. If not for them, being at DeGroote wouldn’t have been nearly the enjoyable experience it’s been so far.
