Throughout my first term, I was continuously impressed by the amount of support and open dialogue enabled within the DeGroote community despite studying within a fully virtual environment.
I was drawn to DeGroote’s flexible MBA program options, specifically the Accelerated stream which has been tailored for students with an undergraduate business degree. Upon applying to DeGroote, I also had the opportunity to speak with current students and found their experiences enriched with a focus on student engagement and sense of community – key aspects which ultimately create a productive atmosphere for students to excel.
Why an MBA?
Pursuing the MBA was driven by my ambition to shift from the world of telecommunications and pivot into a marketing career within consumer packaged goods. To transition into the CPG industry, embarking on my MBA journey made sense as it offered the opportunity to enhance my existing skillset and develop an understanding of key principles within brand management, while expanding my professional network both inside and outside of the classroom.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
Throughout my first term, I was continuously impressed by the amount of support and open dialogue enabled within the DeGroote community despite studying within a fully virtual environment. The ongoing engagement shown through the number of events hosted by the faculty, staff and peers, along with the variety of support tools available have been instrumental to a fulfilling student experience.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
Your experience at DeGroote is entirely what you make of it. Get involved within the school by leveraging the resources available to you to position yourself as a highly valuable individual, and take the time to engage with your peers, faculty members and alumni to develop your network.
What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
The highlight of my experience at DeGroote so far would be having the opportunity to participate in the Pitching in for Charity case competition. I found it especially rewarding to contribute to an annual event that focuses on giving back to the community while also further developing my problem solving skills.

I enjoy live music! I’ve been to 22 concerts and 1 music festival so far.
