Why DeGroote?

I chose to pursue my MBA at DeGroote because the breadth of specializations the program has to offer. The co-op program provides students with the opportunity to explore different career opportunities while gaining quality work experience. The HSM specialization was highly attractive to me as it lays a strong academic framework for my transition into private healthcare.

Why an MBA?

Coming from a background in chemistry, I pursued my MBA to build upon my business knowledge and develop soft skills that are critical for the workplace. Looking to pivot into the business world, my MBA has opened doors to unique opportunities that I have been able to explore through the co-op program at DeGroote. The broad selection of specializations at DeGroote has allowed me to focus my education and prepare myself for my career.

What surprised you about DeGroote?

The networking opportunities through a highly engaged alumni network has allowed me to learn more about different industries and become my targeted in my career search. The Career and Professional Development services team has done a great job in guiding me in my career search through programs and services. Through these services and networking opportunities I have identified my career path and gained valuable experience within industries of interest.

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?

My experience at DeGroote is highlighted by my extracurricular involvement and the connections I have made with my peers. This past year, the HSMA and DMI collaborated to host a charity volleyball tournament. Together we raised $1,850 for Sexual Assault Centre Hamilton Area.

Aside from being an MBA Student Ambassador, what other extra-curricular activities have you been involved with while at DeGroote?
