Why DeGroote?

I chose DeGroote because I wanted to continue my education at McMaster University. The school cherishes its student’s well-being and values education and community. These values have always aligned with my own. DeGroote has a respected reputation as it produces high-quality, knowledgeable candidates for future hiring. This MBA program enhances those, like myself, who want “Education with purpose.” As I have learned, the prestige of DeGroote is the high-achieving alumni it has fostered.

Why an MBA?

I wanted an MBA because I knew those three letters’ value and power. The MBA program is made for ambitious life-long learners to fulfill their true potential. I wanted to learn new quantitative skills and further develop existing ones around others with like-minded goals of professional growth. An MBA offers challenges that push and penetrate the boundaries of comfort to discover and reinvigorate passion. I am proud to have the opportunity to do my MBA and am excited about my future.

What surprised you about DeGroote?

The biggest surprise about DeGroote is the level of camaraderie amongst the school. DeGroote has manifested an atmosphere of cultivating relationships, professionally and personally. I have connected with professors beyond a student and teacher relationship. Some of my peers have turned into good friends. I receive support and tips from alumni who are happy they can help a fellow Marauder. I am surprised that I will not only be graduating with an MBA but also meaningful connections.

What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?

Like my DeGroote Leadership profile says, be yourself and get the most out of your time at DeGroote! Getting into the program is a tremendous stepping stone to getting ahead! Don’t waste it.

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?

A highlight in my DeGroote experience has been working in groups for projects. I enjoy the bonding process of working collectively towards a goal. The ups and downs faced are not faced alone. You belong to a team, and in a greater sense, to a community that cares about your success and well-being. My highlight has been going to school every day feeling excited because I love what I do and the people I am doing it with. I would not trade this feeling for the world.
