The experience I had with DeGroote staff, students and even alumni has been truly amazing right from the day I applied up until this very day which only confirmed that this is the school for me!
Why an MBA?
I decided to do an MBA because I am a firm believer in experiential learning, although my background in science was able to strengthen my analytical and problem solving skills I felt I lacked the ability to be able to apply my learnings in a real world setting. The program alongside the three Co-op terms offers the perfect blend of an educational background through real life business problems and case studies, while then actually applying those learnings to your Co-op terms. DeGroote has already improved my decision making skills and is shaping me to be a better future business leader of tomorrow!
What surprised you about DeGroote?
I was really surprised about how DeGroote seamlessly handled the transition to virtual learning. I was among the first cohort to be fully onboarded onto the MBA program virtually, I was a little concerned how this would affect my academics and my overall MBA experience. DeGroote went above and beyond to ensure our education was uncompromised, that there was still plenty of events and opportunities for students to partake in.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
Genuinely take the time to evaluate your future both in term of your professional and personal career and then decide if this MBA program aligns with your vision.
What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
The endless opportunities that are presented to students to help refine their leaderships skills and take part in. The amount of opportunities available can get overwhelming at times, but I found being in a virtual environment gave me a lot more time to seize opportunities that I normally wouldn’t have the chance to do!
